Retired. Formerly IGN’s Director of Reviews, EIC of GameSpy, and Reviews Editor at PC Gamer. Dad (so expect dad jokes). Careful: you might hear some opinions.
Threw this together with (half of) a $22 pork loin from Costco and got rave reviews from the family. I was nervous about whether I could pull off butterflying and rolling it but America’s Test Kitchen has never led me astray. youtu.be/DdXvB9F0zFE?...

Christmas is good and all but have you tried dungeness crab with some good butter sauce?

I'm confused about a lot of things here, but pretty high on the list is why they went with the PS2 graphics version of this concept art.

I'm legit surprised at just *how quickly* Bari Weiss did something incredibly stupid that anybody could've told her would go very badly. I figured she'd ramp up to it with a series of dumb but kind of understandable errors first, but nope: straight to the worst possible scenario.

Age of Ultron is good, actually.

Also Ant Man is *very* good.

It really is astonishing how shitty the support for WebP is. There are websites I will not naame where you upload content in JPEG or PNG that then convert it to WebP, but when you try to upload a WebP they say WTF is this GTFO.
Search for the Google Chrome extension "WebP / Avif Image converter".

Writers can send their cheques to me now for all the time saved. I've been using this for a few years and got in the habit of right-clicking/auto-converting any image so I never see webp images for my news posts.
Everyone deserves to spend the holidays surrounded by people who love and appreciate them.

Except for the guy who invented the webp.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't just release a bunch of files on Boris Epshteyn hoping we wouldn't notice.

It's kind of crazy they haven't made a Fallout Shelter 2. It has a great hook, great art style, and generally rewarding progression that had me coming back for 100+ hours... it just peters out and doesn't let you do anything with all that you've invested. A sequel with more depth could be fantastic.
In Fallout Shelter's first season, Viva New Vegas, you'll be visited by some familiar faces bringing quests and challenges to revitalize Novac!

The House Dems have a trove of Epstein materials from the estate they've slowly been releasing. Now that DOJ has started putting gout massively redacted versions, seems like the Dems should find some that were unnecessarily redacted and release the full version to show DOJ is abusing redactions.

"We have never been invaded"

Bitch the British burned down the White House in 1814 - did they get a visa for that or what?

I called out my jr. high school social studies teacher for making this same historically illiterate mistake.

well, the good news is, he didn't declare war. the bad news is that the president is a raving lunatic. 🤷‍♂️

Paying the troops a bonus = good.

Sending the troops to be maimed or killed for oil in Venezuela = so incredibly bad it makes the good completely insignificant. Who wants to take a bullet for under $2K?

So wait. We’re declaring a war of conquest to take oil company assets nationalized half a century ago?

Yeesh. I wonder how much of this is just a giant, GTA 6-shaped hole in the market. Definitely not all of it, but if that game had come out as planned I bet it would have single-handedly changed the tone of this story.

I love how people throw around Rotten Tomatoes scores of ~70% claiming that's a failure.

Dudes I'd love to see you make something that nearly 3/4 people (or even 2/3) said was good. Best of luck to you with that.

An Amazon delivery guy put an in-garage package directly behind my car's rear wheel and naturally it got run over when my wife went to work this morning. That's gotta be on purpose, right? A whole garage and you put it right *there*?

Fortunately it was only gifts for the cats that got crushed.

I’m up to Age of Ultron in the MCU rewatch with my son (10), and he’s now asking me to pause every few minutes so he can pepper me with questions, theories, and pointing out plot holes.

Proud nerd dad here.

If movie theaters were a thing consumers loved, they would be there. They go there for horror movies, some action blockbusters. Let me reiterate a line I wrote decades ago about the nascent digital space: Consumers have taken control of their entertainment experience & they are never giving it back.
The pandemic.
The strike.
The sale of Fox.

“.. Box office experts say 15 to 20 percent of regular moviegoers have simply never returned ..”

Tim Miller crushed this. He's a Republican who worked for Jeb Bush so obviously he's got a lot of views I don't agree with. But he's reasonable, and you should watch him go to bat against a bunch of extremists.

He does lie when he calls himself a liberal at the start but other than that.
