There should be character in every soap that’s completely oblivious to all the drama happening. Their role should be to have a completely boring life and be told stuff months after it’s happened. ‘What? She’s her daughter? No way!’ Or ‘but he was such a nice taxi driver, he did what to his wife?’

To all you writers out there. I’m a member of a couple of critique groups, who discuss each other’s writings. The word count per submission tends to be around 1500-2000 words. Does that affect the length of your chapters? Bc a lot of people seem to be bc presenting chapters of that length… #writing

Channel surfing last night, half asleep, and a proper East Midlands accent grabbed my attention. It was What It Feels Like To Be A Girl, a coming of age Trans story set in Nottingham. Great story, so well acted. Brilliant show. Only flaw was how unfeasibly quickly the got served at the chip shop!
