The good stuff
The success of the Indiana Jones game makes me angry because it's basically a stripped down immersive sim of the kind Arkane and Eidos Montreal used to make. Y'know, the kind everyone kept not buying, forcing the studios to abandon the genre.

Good news, but also terrible news. Game discovery is fucked. People on gaming subreddits - so enthusiasts by default - saying they've never heard of the game before SkillUp or Jacob Geller included it in a GOTY list. All for a sales spike at a discount months after launch. How is that sustainable?

Gator Days isn't just good, it's probably my favorite webcomic now. It's just so relatable. But, most of all, it's just nice.

1000xRESIST is very 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 and, crucially, much better than its promotional materials make it out to be. The trailer, the blurb and even the reviews make it sound like a game made by Tumblr. It's not. It is, instead, an amazing sci-fi narrative experience that's got both heart and soul.

So this is gonna be a gimmick account. The rule is - when I post, it's going to be about something nice. Something good. We all deserve it. I'll find a way to sneak some bitching in, though. Bitching is the spice of life.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 simply due to how much sheer joy it brings me at regular intervals. It's also deeply flawed, but that doesn't matter. I haven't smiled so much while playing a game in years.
