Some Windows 10 users decided to move on, finally, and many begrudgingly. It’s not from wanting Windows 11 or Copilot, both of which they’ve been trying to avoid.

Wonder of wonders! 🥇
Now that CoPilot can sort a spreadsheet, what amazing capability will Microsoft create next?! /s

For the first time in more than 40 years of using most things Microsoft, I’m seriously looking at making the switch to an Apple Mac

That writing style suggests it’s promotional copy, meant to engage readers toward some action. It predates recent AI tools. It emerged on LinkedIn along with advice to market oneself as a “thought leader” or other self-aggrandizing title.

It was good to see one of the former Mayors of Encinitas out supporting the event

Thousands of anti-ICE protesters assemble at the busiest intersection in sleepy suburban Encinitas, CA. Most drivers passing by honk or give thumbs-up in support of the US Constitution, Bill of Rights, Due Process, or against ICE or tyranny.

The American Dialect Society has chosen its word of the year: slop…used as both a freestanding noun, and a productive suffix! Check out all the words we nominated at the link! And while I nominated “that’s AI” (and it won for most useful), there’s no fake news here!
The American Dialect Society (@americandialect.org) has announced the nominations for its Word of the Year—this is the one that matters, people! Vote will be tonight.

I got “sloppy” on January 1st, spinning through Merriam-Webster’s candidates. Maybe it’ll catch on as an adjective?

Yes, 67 is over, let’s move on to 89

Ah, diving deeper into the BLS data I see that Houstonians spent more than 90% of their transportation on vehicles. Perhaps cars don’t last as long there? Or people replace them more often or they cost more?
January 9, 2026 at 5:44 AM
Surprised to see Houston having such expensive transportation expenses. Gas is so much cheaper there than San Diego.
