The last time we were genuinely in threat of relegation, we bought Keane, Defoe and Palacios in the January and ended up coming top half. This year we've replaced our top scorer with a good presser and bought a kid. The 'Lewis family' somehow think we can stay up with no players and a dud manager.

So the board are too cowardly to sack him... but have no intention of backing him either. So we are paying the highest season ticket prices in Europe to limp to the end of the season and risk plenty more injuries. 'Competing on multiple fronts' eh

You could see the quality from early on. But just like Wirtz he needed to acclimatise. Especially as the PL is basically rugby union this season.
I think I was maybe a bit unfairly down on Simons first half of this season. He is a proper proper player. Brilliant today, worked so hard and deserved more from his performance.
