Sports Photographer. NSW Far North Coast. Bundjalung Land. Just sport. Lots of it. Talk it, watch it, if I can get my bones moving, I'll play it. Carlton, LFC, Toronto Maple Leafs.
Devastated like many on here to hear of John Kudelka’s passing.

While I’m sure he will take it in his stride, and probably illustrate his own final moments on this mortal coil demonstrating his incredible wit and intellect, his loss will be long felt.

Sympathies go to his family at this time.

Literally no one can be surprised. The end of elections in the "Worlds greatest democracy" has been on the radar for 10+ years.
I hope lawyers, secretaries of state, and state attorneys general are preparing for what’s coming.

This Winter Olympics coverage is so sad. A bunch of no names sitting in a someone’s spare room, commentating using phrases such as “for those of you at home …. ”.

There’s no crowd sound. It’s completely lifeless.

I'm sitting in a local Maccas waiting for my car to be serviced.

A local has visited. He's known to staff. Apparently this is his 3rd visit today. It's just gone midday.

Maccas should be required to turn away repeat visitors, just like pubs are *supposed* to monitor pokie dens.

Disgraceful.

Vasilevsky (Tampa) and Swayman (Boston) have just had a Goalie fight in the NHL.

They came together, threw a few and both came up with smiles on their faces.

The NHL really is easily the most entertaining sport on the planet.

Thank Christ that’s over.

Let’s pack tennis away for another 12 months.

It’s not the sport, it’s the presentation of it. Just garbage … and please someone mute Courier’s mic.

Novak unforced error.

“Novak is working so hard through pain and discomfort”.

Novak wins a point.

“The champ is back”.

Alcaraz wins a point

“Novak is working so hard through pain and discomfort”.

Do these commentators realise there’s a second bloke on the court who has reduced Novak to a whimpering pile of sorrow?

This commentary is pathetic … which is why I haven’t watched tennis since this game last year.

This is the model that the AFL and NRL are salivating over.

Separating viewers with their money in any way possible. Oh, and there's a game on too apparently.
Everything in and around the NFL’s biggest game is bettable, from the tears during the anthem to the first timeout called.

But this is the 60th Super Bowl, and by now, the props have gone completely off the rails.

The US is taking a band of unruly criminals to Italy? Surely they are refused entry to the country.

Surely.
ICE agents will be part of the security detail for the United States’ dignitaries at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics beginning next week.

The Department of Homeland Security said the agency would not be involved in immigration operations there.

In a previous job I met an 'active' war-time photographer. He was back in Sydney for a quick reprieve before throwing himself back into the line of fire ... literally.

He explained how it was difficult to maintain a relationship, as his wives/partners never knew when, or if, he would come home.
Dave Guttenfelder is an amazing photojournalist who‘s most recently primarily focused on conflict photojournalism in Syria and Ukraine.

Hes recently turned his talents to Minneapolis.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to walk off the beaten track and find ramen whenever you can.

This dinner will be destructed in under 10 minutes.

This little 2 table, 24 hour ramen bar was delicious.

So much snow.

Also … so much cloud. For my 3rd run in 28 years I decided to go really high up the mountain.

2.5 hours later I popped out somewhere vaguely near where I started.

Anyway … took a cool selfie while lost somewhere up the slopes.

So that’s Tokyo done …. For now at least.

We walked home to our hotel in Shinjuku Gyoemmae (20 mins from central Shinjuku) and stopped in a tiny little restaurant that made an amazing ramen-style broth with pork and veggies.

Off to Niseko tomorrow for a quick 🏂 before heading to Osaka.

Away we go again for our final full day in Tokyo. A quick 130 Yen 💴 ($1.23 AUD) purchase from the vending machine outside our hotel.

Can (and contents) are warm and delicious.

The sun sets over Tokyo, with Mt Fuji looking over this remarkable city.

Shot from the 45th floor lookout of the South Government Building Observatory in #Shinjuku, #Japan.

As the sun went down, #MtFuji appears to grow in size.

Staying in Shinjuku in Japan, in what appears to be the coffee quarter.

Today I visited a tiny but amazing coffee places called Glass.

Next stop - The Smokist - where I can teach my 15 year old so. How to order a double espresso and pinch a durry.

Kayo relabelled their existing platform Premium, and then raised the price.

Today, they're announcing another price rise. I think that's two in 12 months.

Off to quit Kayo, and then sign up to an AFL club "Digital" membership, which provides Kayo at a discount.

No more reviews. Oh well.

It was a moral victory of a review. And might have also cost them the test.

Did the British invent shooting themselves in the foot?

That is both the dumbest bowling change, leading to the dumbest dismissal I think I've ever seen.

I'm happy, but I'm also saddened to see these awful Australian tactics worked, and they might try it again.
