At least now on the most popular sites things are much more secure in the fact they're mostly safe from a device destroying virus unlike 20 years ago when it could be coin flip browsing ANY site not just the "naughty" ones.

There are ways around these things but if kids have online safety drilled into them, then the likelihood of harmful falls (they understand what's bad) and more likely horny teens look for a way to access the most popular 18+ content.
