Just going to put this website here: www.magicschool.ai

Great website! Trying to get teachers to use AI a bit so that when their students try, the teachers know what they are talking about.

So we are about a quarter of the way into school and we are running into students using AI for essays, as predicted. Currently, admin is wanting me to block all AI, that is an impossible task. What are some other suggestions I can give admin and teachers to help students use AI well?

Life has been busy starting the school year. How is everyone's start going this year?

We moved to to a new building. We never had lockers and never had tardy bells. There's a lot of routine we're still setting up.

Anyone have any experience in bringing Examview tests over to Google forms without having to just retype everything? 🍎

I'm reading The Phantom Tollbooth to my daughter that came across this line.

It's a reminder to me in life but also in teaching that sometimes plans need to be set aside for unexpected moments.

Here's to a new school year!

Hey for those of you that need to create student accounts, I found a really handy Google sheets add-on for creating kid-friendly passwords. They're totally not secure so if that's a big deal, don't use it but I thought I'd share it here.

Looking for ways to raise $9000 this year for robotics. I work at a private school so I can't do things like donors choose. We are also not able to get ESSER funds.

Thanks for the ideas in advance.

New interactive flat panels. I have to hang 13 of them tomorrow.

Good morning bsky! Anyone use ck-12 for their science curriculum in junior high? What are your thoughts and feelings? The new Flexbooks they have allow you to edit the actual text the students would read, which is kind of interesting.

I'm a junior high school teacher. I want to model to students how to use AI to improve, not replace, the writing process.

I asked ChatGPT to give feedback for writing improvement. We had a conversation, including title ideas.

We can fear AI or teach students how to it use it effectively. #edusky

#EDUsky Question, I am a teacher but I am also our IT specialist at our school. I'm looking at the different versions of Google workspace for education. Currently we're on fundamentals. We have no use for Google meet in the school. Is it worth upgrading for something like Google classroom add-ons?

Hey all!

Anything fun happen to anyone today? Our local YMCA has egym equipment that I got signed up for and they gave me a bioage after some strength tests. Let's just say I need to go to the gym more often :).

Question for #EDUsky group... We Are looking for a program to help with teaching typing to kids in elementary school and middle school. I've used typing.com but each year it feels like we need to start over. Does anyone have any suggestions?

#edusky Looking forward to teaching ideas. I teach 8th grade science and 6th - 8th grade computer science. Currently I use code.org Discoveries curriculum and enjoy it. I'd like a bigger focus on coding and wondering what other CS teachers do.
Learn computer science. Change the world.
Every student in every school deserves the opportunity to study computer science.
