Rarely this is talked about but here will share with you... when it comes to kidney transplantation long term use of anti-rejection meds comes with host of side-effects including skin damage with stretch marks the worst, tiger like skin.. I've seen it before, patients need to be informed about this.

One of the contributing factors in dialysis related CVD is calcification of the vascular where loss of fistula for dialysis occurs because of it... majority of dialysis patients deal with this issue..

Weighing the risk between dialysis and a kidney transplant is easy... if your first kidney transplant or even 2nd didn't go well the rest will not either... your immunity is sensitized, too strong, high antibodies, good against diseases, but not for a kidney transplant, avoid it.

Recently had chat with longtime senior dialysis tech who knows me since 1982 after a failed kidney transplant, was 12yrs old at that time.. he's in his late 70s and yes still works incenter.. his mind is sharp.. sadly, others who retired early passed away from dementia... good idea to stay active..
