Today’s synchronicity burst: rubber ducks (5 unrelated ‘encounters’ during my day, when I couldn’t tell you the last time I’d come across mention of them).

Make of that what you will, I have no idea. 🤷🏼‍♂️

OMG, so perfect.
remember when the Roko's Basilisk concept broke nerd-crank containment and someone effortlessly dismissed it as "imagining in the future there'll be a boot of such enormous size that you have to start licking it today"
is there a speculative concept that's less scary than the Technological singularity? tech is going to escape human control and everybody dies? that's fucking stupid.

Watched @realgdt.bsky.social's Frankenstein last night. Just beautiful, perhaps my favourite of his films, and that's saying something.

Shout-out to my fellow Brisbane-ite Jacob Elordi for a brilliant job as the 'monster'...not easy to bring depth while recreating what is now a cultural archetype.

The trouble is, so many of us have solar panels on our roof that we already don't need the 3 free hours of electricity use. 🤷‍♂️

(There are plans now though to roll out more two-way EV chargers to allow us to charge during the day, and then use them as batteries for night time use/send to grid.)
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.
