The roads between Schafer Drive and LaFontaine Way are not great. Another great day for at home coziness. Another day that I’m up at the Costco making sure the reckless can purchase socks and Skinny Pop.

My favorite style of beer is a stout. This one hits all the right notes. $7.99 at Costco is you get a chance. #beer #stout #Costco

It's not a foolproof plan but every political debate from now on should be a Normal Guy competition. Ask them to describe grocery shopping in detail. Talk about what it's like to have a friend

Yesterday’s out of town exploration:
I drove 15 minutes on back roads to eat breakfast at a park, and when I arrived it was a baseball field.

One of the most beautiful, rewarding, soul affirming aspects of life is the ability to continually discover new (to me) music. There have been a few dry spells over the years, but it’s always so fun to get into a new band or album.

A convicted felon who had also been found liable for sexual assault and committed additional crimes in plain sight was close with a notorious child sex trafficker and likely participated in some of those crimes too got elected with much of that known and spent his presidency railing against “crime.”

Working in Fruitport has made something apparent, I am infamous in Costco circles. Random employees that I have never met from stores I am no longer working in know stories about me. “Oh you’re Brian. I heard working with you is fun!” “Someone told me you’re one of the Buckley boys.” WTF is going on

My work week is going to be a little different this week. I’ll be traveling to Fruit Port midway to assist with the onslaught of new sign ups. My pertinent expenses will be covered. Costco work trip.

November is often a month that I turn to poetry. I don’t write poetry, but I’ve always enjoyed it, especially (as this poem states) when home or love sick.

There’s a crazy person asking people to sign a petition in front of our Burton Dollar Tree. His petition is asking … someone to make it illegal for non-citizens to vote. If you need a reminder or clarification, ITS ALREADY ILLEGAL FOR NON-CITIZENS TO VOTE! It always has been. Stop believing bullshit

To a new world of gods and monsters. The movie, The Bride of Frankenstein turns 90 years old this year.

Mary Shelley understood monsters and chose to write about them in an era when women weren’t allowed to publish. Her brave work has played a big role in my life.

I would not thrive in a tropical climate, but I love tropical plants!

Banana plants can grow up to 25 feet tall for certain varieties.
They are not trees. They are herb plants.

Im in Grand Rapids this weekend.

There’s a lot of things I love about traveling and staying in hotel rooms. I won’t go into all those details. WAFFLE MAKERS at the continental breakfast (not pancake making machines - those are abominations).

I hate the SLEEPING in hotels. I rarely sleep well.

I was drinking a martini when the waitress screamed, “Does anyone know CPR?” I yelled, “I know the entire alphabet,” and we all laughed - except one person.
