How long do Unjournal evaluators take to do their evaluations? For our academic stream, about 8 hours on average, with substantial dispersion.

(Scatterplot: imputed data from 40 quantifiable responses, not including applied stream nor those who used the PubPub form.)

Musk is on his way to becoming the world’s first trillionaire

He could have done so much good… or just paid a fair share of taxes

He chose to kill USAID, which has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them kids

Congrats to The Netherlands on their flourishing democracy and on being the largest net contributor to @scipost.bsky.social scipost.org/finances/cou...

My countries are doing a bit worse: The US "owes" them €229,286 and the UK €5008.

Algeria and Egypt each owe €1. :)

If you're among the 2000+ authors citing research evaluated by Unjournal.org, go to unjournal.pubpub.org to learn how commissioned experts rated & assessed that research.

Top 'citers of unjournal-evaluated research': https://bit.ly/3WRHc8W include Esther Duflo, Julian Jamison, & Berk Özler

I love what #SciPost does & their narrative.
Much agrees w/ Unjournal.org practices.

Some differences (Us/Them)
1. Quant. ratings vs accept/reject
2. Publish all evaluations vs. only if ‘accepted’
3. Fields & applied focus
4. We pay evaluators
5. We don’t 'publish' papers, just evaluations

In sum: results are 😍, but we need to better understand what it was about the experimental intervention that made it 👌.

This is NOT a done deal. @thelancet.com's study assumes USAID is cut to 0.

Congress clawed back 9.4 billion; ~50 billion remains that the State Dept. must obligate to line-items Congress specified, such as #PEPFAR.

We should _fight_ for this, not let people die to use as a talking point.

Did Charlie Brown football kick attempts (cartoon strip) occur during the US football season? Yes they did. At least ChatGPT 04 mini high's analysis is pretty clear. I haven't checked the raw data though. 41 attempts, all in-season.
