Ever since I learned this, I have made a point to preorder books from authors and artists I follow from my local bookstore. Often, they'll order an extra copy or two to stock on the shelves. It's crazy how low the number is to make a tangible difference!
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

My hubris of the day is "what if I implement what I've learnt from Bridgman into my unfinished ME fanarts so I have something to post on N7 day" 🤔
Mass Effect fanart sketches of femshep I've wanted to put on paper for the last couple of months! I will clean them up in the future for sure (and probably expect A LOT more Mass Effect fanarts), but felt the urge to share! Hope you like them as much as I do :3

I'm of the radical belief that artists should genuinely be kind to each other. Other artists aren't your competition, we don't need rat race mentality bleeding into the art space. We've went through A LOT over the past couple of years already so please treat one another with love and compassion 🫶

This is your daily reminder that you don't have to get it right the first time, progress takes time. This viewpoint has really helped me become a more "productive" artist over the last couple of months. It's very satisfying to see your mashed up mock-up turn into an actual painting!
