Obviously, the Department of Education no longer values education or people who are educated. Or schools or a lot of teachers. Guess they see no need for skills in an autocracy.
🧵 Let’s be so effing for real right now. The Department of Education saying these jobs are no longer PROFESSIONAL is dumb as hell and insulting as fuck. It takes YEARS of post-graduate training, including passing certifying exams, to earn degrees in these fields. #fdt #momsky

Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.

The deconstructing Dept. of Education is racing to further undermine the foundation of democracy: an educated electorate. It is mirroring other regime actions by targeting women, minorities, special needs, etc. The goal is to cruelly weaken us and our ability to uphold democratic principles. Resist!

What women hear - and isn't good to hear - over their lifetimes that isn't said to men. And we hear it again and again.
1. I have been called a cougar
2. I have been called bossy
3. Had to wear skirts below my knee
4. A friend told my mom that I am single because my parents *allowed* me to get my PhD.
5. I was warned that if I didn't get married I'd be a spinster.

Saw The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui by Brecht yesterday. The play warns about the way Hitler seized power. At the end, Arturo says conditions that gave rise to Nazi Germany are present in the US. "Athough the world stood up & stopped the bastard, the bitch that bore him is in heat again." Chilling!

This makes me nauseous.
Trump has ordered the U.S. Treasury to draft a $1 coin featuring him on both sides, for the purpose of “honoring America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS,” according to Treasury officials.

The dog that didn't bark is a clue from Sherlock Holmes where the absence of a dog's barking shows the thief was familiar w/ the dog. The phrase is used as a metaphor to highlight the imp. of considering what is missing or unsaid, & the evid. that can be found in the absence of something expected.

Thank you to U.S. veterans for your courage, dedication, & service! It’s not enough to verbally thank veterans & hold parades. Trump/GOP are gutting & cutting the Veterans Administration! We need to fund the Veterans Administration; provide veterans with benefits; access to healthcare; jobs etc.!🇺🇸

Trying to focus my fury as Rothkopf recommends- change the Democratic party, don't abandon it. Put new leaders in place and elect candidates who are in touch with the people. But we are running out of time before there is a full autocracy. Can we beat the clock?

Why These Vichy Dems and Their Spineless Boss Need to Go Now
We need courage and clarity from our leaders. Schumer and these eight in the Senate have shown they have failed that test. Time to turn the page.

It took a courageous Republican bucking his party to give America affordable healthcare and eight cowardous Democrats bucking their party to take it away.

Ditto!
LESS. THAN. A. WEEK.

Took them less than a week to take one of the most visible public repudiations of the GOP in my lifetime and turn it into hog slop.

I’m so mad my temperature is higher than my ACA premiums.

Grossman states what is obvious to many of us but not to the Democratic leadership: normal politics are gone & MAGA isn't following laws, rules, or norms. We need strong opposition to this theft of democracy-caving in/hoping that MAGA will keep promises is something only fools think Is a smart move.
I wrote about the "Appeasement Eight" Senate Democrats getting the party to fold to Trump in the government shutdown, and why it shows that pro-democracy Americans badly need a real opposition party, full of leaders who recognize the United States isn't a normal rule of law democracy anymore.
Democrats Have to Get Out of a Normal Democracy Mindset
By folding in the government shutdown in exchange for virtually nothing, eight Democratic senators aid Trump's authoritarian takeover rather than oppose it

We need a lot more elected representatives to work FOR the people, not against them. The 8 defectors showed they won’t represent our interests & sided with the enemy. Add their names to the list of who will go down in infamy. Primary all of them! Elect people who can be steadfastness & resolute.
Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.

Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

The American people need more from their leaders.
November 10, 2025 at 6:54 AM
Primary all of them! We need fighters not defectors! We don't need gut punches from the Dems while the MAGAs are kicking us in the kneecaps. We will not forget who failed to stand up for us in the fight for our lives and our democracy.
This is not how you defeat Trump.
If they can't hold the Line they need to go.

"Democrats may have been more surprised than anybody to discover their shutdown strategy was actually drawing political blood. Their instinct was to withdraw the knife anyway." Unforgivable abandonment of a righteous fight to protect healthcare & democracy-Shame!
