geriatric millenial.
As an almost 40 year old who spent the entire day at laneway from gates opening til the end of Chappell’s set, let me say this:

I love my bed.

Sometimes you are Feeling Bad and then friends invite you to have a drink and play scrabble at a local bar and actually things are nice, sometimes.

I went to the movies last night, a 9pm screening of Wicked at the Palace. There was me, two women siting together, and another trio of two women and a man sitting together. That trio had booked seats in my row, and when I got there, had strewn all their stuff everywhere (bags etc).

The Holly and the Ivy is the best Christmas carol. Specifically Loreena McKennit’s spooky version on A Midwinter Night’s Dream, but all versions fucking slap.

Honourable mentions to the Coventry Carol, God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen and The Carol of the Bells.

I cracked and bought a new phone yesterday (after getting nearly 5 years out of an ex-demo XR, which is good going imo). highly do not recommend highpoint the Sunday before Christmas but i am happy to have a functional pocket computer again.

I have heard “Running Up That Hill” (one of my favourite songs of all time) on the radio a couple of times in the last few months and every time I am annoyed anew that the radio edit cuts the bridge.

I will go to my grave preferring the G Armstrong Little Women (I enjoyed Gerwig’s version a lot!! But it‘s the 1994 version forever for me).
One of my hotter takes is preferring the 1994 Little Women to the 2019 Little Women, a thing that honestly might just be one of the few cases where nostalgia is tripping me up (though I also just am not on Greta Gerwig's wavelength in quite the right way, I've found). (I LIKE HER A LOT.)

BA in history and english because those were 2 subjects I did best at in high school. Bumbled through call centre and admin roles before settling in the public service in program management. Idk if it’s a career path, I could got here more efficiently if I’d planned it, but I don’t mind where I am.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

this week has been SO BUSY (I’ve had something on every night, including going to the opera tonight and a gig tomorrow), and I am very excited for the weekend where I am going to clean and play BG3 and otherwise not leave my apartment.

I know this family personally and they are fighting so hard for their daughter to be safe, affirmed and loved. Any dollars you could sling their way would be gratefully appreciated. gofund.me/26a6dc90f

Went to an album launch tonight (RinRin, get amongst it if you like heavy metal + hyperpop), and one of the supports did an amazing heavy cover of the sailor moon theme song. Quality evening.

I bought a PS5 yesterday (secondhand from a friend, we love the circular economy) so I guess RIP to all my other hobbies for a while. I gotta play BG3, the FFVII reboot, etc.

Anyway I got the tram back in and am now almost home. Hooray!

I just put away some yarn I bought from a Ravelry destash (where roughly 70% of my yarn comes from tbh) and I can only just close the lid of the second Large Storage Tub Of Yarn so I am not permitted to buy anything else until ive knitted a goodly chunk of it.

Immensely proud of CMAT for selling out the Forum for her show in January 2026 and getting a second show added!! I’m still honestly thinking about how good her show at the Northcote theatre early in the year, truly one for the ages.
