ICE is changing tactics in Maine: "Now, the volunteers in Maine say federal agents have started showing up at their homes and intimidating them or threatening arrest. Some of them, masked and wearing tactical gear, have issued stark warnings not to follow them." www.pressherald.com/2026/01/23/i...

What if we are in a Matrix situation, but instead of machines using people as batteries, it was bacteria who built people as self sustaining homes? Seems awfully convenient how we just happen to need complex microbiomes to survive. 🤔

It's okay if this is hard for you, even if it's easy for someone else. It *is* important, but if RSD, ADHD, or anything else makes this too difficult, don't give up, there are hundreds of other ways to provide support.
I call my senators / congresswoman often.
It's my duty, and it's not difficult *at all*. What's actually difficult about it is pushing through my resentment.
These are folks I pay *really well* to be decent.
And I resent having to PLEAD with them to do be decent.
It makes me feel crazy.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

If you can't make it to a protest today, you probably could send some letters to your reps. Every little thing counts!

End the Killings: States Must Unite to Stop Lawless ICE Operations
Text SIGN PQZSKS to 50409 — On January 24, 2026, federal immigration agents shot and killed Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse and U.S. citizen, on a public street in Minneapolis. Multiple verified videos show Pretti holding a phone, not a weapon, as agents pepper-sprayed him, forced him to the ground, disarmed him, and then fired repeatedly into his body. This killing followed another fatal shooting by federal agents in Minneapolis just weeks earlier. Together, these deaths represent a terrifying escalation: heavily armed federal agents operating inside American cities with little regard for civilian safety, constitutional rights, or local authority. State and local officials in Minnesota have condemned these actions. Governors and mayors have warned that federal enforcement teams are acting with impunity, obstructing state investigations, and refusing to cooperate with lawful oversight. This is not law enforcement—it is a breakdown of accountability. While immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility, states are not required to accept federal actions that endanger residents, undermine public trust, or interfere with state law enforcement and judicial processes. State governments retain significant power over cooperation, access, and authorization within their borders. I urge you, as a state legislator, to act immediately and in coordination with lawmakers across the country to form a unified response. Specifically, I ask that you: • Join with other states in formally opposing the continued deployment of ICE and related federal enforcement operations that have resulted in civilian deaths. • Adopt or support resolutions asserting state authority over cooperation with federal agents and rejecting operations that violate constitutional norms or public safety. • Protect the right of residents to record law enforcement activity in public spaces without fear of violence or retaliation. • Call on your governor to work with other governors—across party lines—to demand the withdrawal of ICE from states where its presence has led to bloodshed. Governor JB Pritzker has already called on governors and legislatures nationwide to stand together against what he described as lawlessness inflicted on the states. That call should not stand alone. When federal power is abused, the Constitution does not demand silence—it demands action. No American should be killed for filming law enforcement or helping another person off the ground. No state should be forced to tolerate federal agents who operate above the law. Unity among the states is not only justified—it is necessary. Please act now to help stop the killings and restore accountability.

what this should make clear to everyone in this country is that it does not matter who you are, there's no "it could never happen to me"

you can be a white woman who drives around with stuffed animals in her car, and they will still kill you in cold blood and call you a domestic terrorist

We need to support and protect this woman and her family. I don't know if there's a gofundme yet but everyone who has sacrificed so much fighting for our freedoms deserves to be cared for. Let's make sure it happens.
NEWS: In a heartbreaking video, after ICE shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis, a woman who was in the same SUV cries out: “They killed my wife. I don’t know what to do."

“We stopped to videotape, and they shot her in the head,” the distraught woman sobs.

Even this guy who made it his life to deny people due process deserves his. I hope justice is swift and fair (and that he rots in jail for the rest of his life).
This is the ICE agent who murdered a woman by shooting her multiple times in the face.

I've been using the #bsky android client since the "invite only" era. Does everyone suffer from the issue where posts and replies fail to submit, stuck in the "posting" state, and the only way to clear it is to fully close the app and try again fresh, or just me?

If Democrats said they were going to scrub party names from files protecting pedos, the left would be enraged. Republican leaders have literally said they were going to do this for their aisle and the right is largely silent.

What are the chances that temperature data is being manipulated by the Trump admin? My weather app says 104, but my shaded thermometer is reading 110. I don't expect it to be 100% the same but I've never seen it this much off for days at a time...

One of the weird things about late diagnosed A(u)DHD is the waves of panic and shame that come through that had previously been associated with not doing what I was "supposed" to be doing, but I stop and realize I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing.
