This is patriotism. 🇬🇧

This is pride.

This is unity.

This is a city and a region saying loud and clear- no to racism and no to a far right agenda seeking to divide us.

So much love for our place and our people today. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed who we are.❤️

This is welcome news. Redirecting focus from imprisoning women to exploring alternatives marks an important shift. Women’s centres achieve better outcomes and are more cost-effective, but they must be adequately funded to succeed. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

If you haven't completed this survey, make sure you do it today. Apparently transport survey participants are much more likely to be male (which could explain a lot) - so get your mothers, sisters, daughters etc to complete it too
Reliable, safe, and affordable public transport is vital to women in the North East of England. Women use buses more often than men and make more frequent shorter journeys. Let's ensure women's voices are reached and heard!

Our new cost of a child calculations show that, for the first time since the research started in 2008, all family types on low and modest incomes are unable to meet their costs or reach what the public deems a minimum acceptable living standard.

What. A. Night.

Together we marched to #ReclaimTheNight and show- we will never accept violence and harassment and we will not stop until every woman is safe:

Safe on our streets

Safe in our homes

Safe our workplaces

Safe everywhere.

Not just one night, but every night.

NEW 🚨 Britain's electoral laws are broken - but successive governments have done nothing

Musk's proposed $100million donation to Nigel Farage shows we are on the cusp of a real crisis for British democracy

But it can be fixed. Here's how, by me

💰 | Wealth is becoming the new work. The result is a society where life chances are increasingly determined by what you inherit, not what you do. In his new report, @tom-clark.bsky.social examines 'big wealth' and looks at the policy options.
