The Hearts and Hands collective is a new grassroots community activism group in the #northeast. Their first meeting is this Sunday 9th feb, 10am Earthlings cafe.

One small step we can all take this week is to follow, support and platform the organisations across our communities who are supporting women who are facing or have faced sexual abuse and violence and the organisations who are fighting for change.

Represent Women had a productive morning yesterday at North East Combined Authority's Foundational Economy Roundtable.

Women are overrepresented in the Foundational Economy workforce. We must ensure women's voices are heard and their experiences and needs are taken into account.

We look forward to seeing the details of Government plans to support people into paid work. Women make up higher numbers of those out of work due to ill health than men, and are more likely to reduce or stop paid work to provide unpaid care for others.

Reliable, safe, and affordable public transport is vital to women in the North East of England. Women use buses more often than men and make more frequent shorter journeys. Let's ensure women's voices are reached and heard!
