There are so many filing and payment deadlines that depend on the postmark. You can get a certificate of mailing at an open post office, but that requires a trip to a staffed facility during business hours and costs a fee. It also doesn't always meet legal requirements.

I've been saying this. Most of our losses in soft power -- markets and alliances -- will endure. Our hard power will erode as our military decays, as the damaged economy (from tariffs, poor education, diminished health, grifts, brain drain, etc.) generates less tax tevenue

This! Government and public services aren't supposed to be judged on profit.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

I heartily recommend #Pandora. Their algorithm for choosing songs is much better than Spotify's in general. Their station seeding system is awesome, and you can choose to favor hits, deep cuts, or unfamiliar artists. Big plus: They pay more to the artists than Spotify does.
