Spent the entirety of yesterday playing the entirety of Serious Sam 2. Good game, dumb story and humor, bad final boss because you're stuck on a mandatory vehicle and I didnt even know it was the final boss until the fake out ending. 7/10.

Guys, do not use the Discord Checkpoint thing (Discord's attempt at Spotify Wrapped).
It requires enabling them access to scrape your data, and has an alarming amount of private data being used for it.

Like with Cosmic Star Heroine, if we try to sell it based on the unique turn-based combat, we attract the attention of a few diehards. But if we pitch it as a big sci-fi adventure where a futuristic super spy travels to different planets and has to save the galaxy, that's more generally appealing.

Good games use their story to support the gameplay and use their gameplay to support the story. It's an upward spiraling loop.
Also, most people aren't obsessed with abstract gameplay mechanics (and the few people who are obsessed are probably game devs). You need story to get people to care.
