I've always been fascinated by C.G. Jung off Temu. Lobster man has evidently completed the charlatan cycle and is now launching "Peterson Academy".

Remember the reason they haven't done it to your country yet, is not laws or ethics, but that so far it hasn't been materially expedient.

Hitler's speeches weren't even particularly persuasive content-wise. It was mostly his delivery that mattered, not the rhetoric. The völkisch movement and ariosophy existed before Hitler, the ideas weren't his, but he had the charisma to step into the messiah role many were yearning for.

Happy to see Ardal on the right side here. Gotta sting for Linehan to lose a lead actor of the show he created. As he said, he's alone now.

I still find it buck-wild they skipped everything you bring up on the whole Ahnenerbe stuff. Like, isn't that the most fascinating part of this story? Spielberg literally made Hollywood blockbusters about them. This seems either alarmingly intentional or worryingly negligent.

It appears our local German tax-funded broadcaster NDR found their very own Graham Hancock and netflixed him up, including the right-wing "Spezialistentum" allegations against established academia. Great write-up by historian @smagnussen.de from my alma mater Kiel. German language.
In late March, the NDR aired a story about the #Atlantis in the North Sea-theory. It portrayed the main protagonist, Jürgen Spanuth, as a passionate pioneer who had been silenced by the establishment. I wrote an article on @uebermedien.de about what bothered me about this:

Atlantis in der Nordsee? Was der NDR in seiner "Zeitreise" weglässt
Der NDR stellt den Hobbyforscher Jürgen Spanuth als Pionier dar, blendet jedoch aus, dass auch NS-Ideologen seine wilden Theorien teilten.

I don't know if this was mentioned in the NDR story, but the nazis believed Atlantis to be in the North Sea because the Romans fantasized about a former island called "Thule". Theosophians then took that as proof of nordmen ancestry in a North Sea Atlantis. Their "Thule Society" became the NSDAP.

Behold: The argument for why AI is a massive time saver meets the argument that AI "art" isn't slop because it requires a lot of tireless "work".
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

Now after 60 hours, I'm madly in love. Sure, the writing still ranges from poor to mediocre, but darnit, the gameplay is just that good. A stunning world that mechanically rewards exploration, meaningful progression, beautiful cosmetics, and a combat and stealth system that just flows so well.

Shadow of Mordor's version of Arkham style combat was way more responsive and satisfying than giving Batman vague suggestions to where he may want to ice skate over to next. And while we're at it, even Mad Max's version was more fun, because it was still more beholden to actual player input.

I did not enjoy Hades, because as much as people claim it's a "roguelike for people that don't like roguelikes" it's still a roguelike, and no amount of absolutely gorgeous art design can change that.

"Ein Aufruf zum Kampf gegen Arbeitgeber ist in der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik beispiellos." Aus dem Mund einer SPD-Ministerin, ja. Solche Aussagen hat die SPD vor 100 Jahren mit Hilfe protofaschistischer Milizen niederschlagen lassen, um zu garantieren, dass wir hier ja nicht zu links werden.
