A worrying example of how the interpretation and application of new laws can evolve over time.

The Terrorism Act has been used against precisely the kinds of actions that Parliament explicitly stated it would not apply to when the law was originally passed.
Ahead of the expected proscription of Palestine Action - the first time a protest group has been legally redefined as terrorist - I went through the Hansard of the 2000 Act they're being banned under. Turns out MPs were assured the law wouldn't be applied this way. Thread 🧵🔽

It never fails to amaze me how Europe's anti-migrant hysteria leaves it completely unprepared for the actual crises unfolding at its doorsteps. In the coming months, we could witness the arrival of Iranians, Palestinians, more Ukrainians, even Israeli and US citizens

From the Casey Audit, on the matter of adultification. As I've noted elswhere, arguably the most glaring egs of adultification by policing (and others) have related to the victims of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSE/A) in places like Rotherham and Rochdale.
