A massive thank you to @tessamunt.bsky.social for tabling this debate on #ME - for listening to patients & advocates and representing the community so well.
Also to @joplatt.bsky.social and every other MP who showed up and talked so compassionately about their constituents.

Tessa Munt MP highlights how Germany is taking post-infectious diseases seriously, committing €500m over 10 years to research #MECFS & #LongCOVID. She asks if the UK Government will make a comparable commitment, or wait a decade for the Germans’ conclusions before taking action?

A govt response after almost 15,000 signed our petition/letter. Albeit a predictable one. Well done to all those that signed & spread the message. Hopefully today's Long Covid & M.E. Joint APPG meeting will pick this up & fight for services & treatments @joplatt.bsky.social @binitakane.bsky.social

5 years this weekend since lockdown. My son is amongst the 100,000 kids that is still locked down by Long Covid. Bedbound in a darkened room by M.E.

Millions of all ages affected. The new government must not brush them under the carpet like the previous one did. Invest in medical treatments & care

Since COVID-19, absence rates have surged:
2018/19: 4.7%
2021/22: 7.6%
2022/23: 7.4%

The BBC covered this as LOCAL news again 🙄 When will the press & government join the dots and acknowledge the cause of the rise in physical disability? Thousands now signing the petition calling for funding for biomedical treatment research and care for Long Covid & M.E.

You won't get us working if you don't get us well (we desperately want both). The government needs to fund treatment research and stop closing clinics. Sign and share the petition: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/in...
