Happy release day to the fabulous @beverleylee.bsky.social. Lee’s ability to offer small rural town claustrophobia, ghosts that command every beat of your heart, and sinister folklore, would make Shirley Jackson envious. THE HAUNTING OF WOUNDED BIRDS out today. #BookSky

Blood on the ropes. BANG BANG will leave you winded and in awe of Nelson’s performance. This movie needs more eyes. From the director of What Josiah Saw, Vincent Grashaw. #FilmSky
A ★★★★ review of Bang Bang (2024)
Bang Bang throws a heavy punch to the gut and heart. I’ve liked Grashaw’s work ever since I watched What Josiah Saw. But this time around you can see how much he’s developed as a director, allowing th...

I only curled up tighter when the floorboards outside my room creaked, and thrice the same knock came, this time upon my door.
"Mercy," a shivering whisper begged. “Please. Mercy."

Along with Promising Young Woman, Ms.45 is up there when it comes to female revenge flicks. Released in 1981 and still stands up.

I love The Hip Pocket’s format. Since the guest curates the three deep cuts to talk about, it’s fundamentally geared towards impassioned recommendations. But, as these are deep cuts, you’re often also getting fresh first watch reactions from the hosts. A perfect mix for discovering new favorites

You know, after watching nearly a horror movie a day in October, I’m kind of looking forward to jumping into other genres this November.

Went for pie at a local pub this afternoon and was served by a witch who wore one contact lens and whose cuffs went in my gravy.

They seated us right next to a wooden box too with a plaque etched with a woman’s name. A framed photo of an old woman was on said box. We figured it was her ashes.

Damn it. 28 horror movies in 31 days. I blame that Scorsese doc that sucked up 5 hours stopping me from reaching 31.

Since we're in the middle of the month, it's worth mentioning I put this together a few years back. It doubles as a good place to look for Halloween fare, and a good list for folks developing an interest in horror. Not a "best of" list, but a "what horror can do" list
