I hate the Louisville-Kentucky basketball game being this early in the season. I also hate it in its traditional spot between Christmas and New Year's

find a way to play it in February, shortly after the Super Bowl. give that rivalry the shine it deserves

"Scared of Charlotte" is a whole new level of "scared of cities" that I'd never even considered possible
Rep. Pat Harrigan: "I have asked Josh Stein, our governor, to consider working with President Trump to allow the National Guard to come into Charlotte ... use the National Guard as a force multiplier and they can a lot of load off the Charlotte PD."

thrilled to see this for my former colleagues. the Block family are a bunch of unrepentant ghouls who might finally face some consequences for their disgraceful actions
BREAKING: We won!

Today the 3rd Circuit Court ordered the @post-gazette.com to restore our contract it illegally tore up 5 years ago. That’s our health care, PTO, right to a 40-hr. work week, short-term disability and so much more we’ve struck for 3+ years.

I don't think Pitt basketball's gonna be very good this year, but Damarco Minor is very much my kind of guy. steady, beefy, experienced floor general. aren't nearly enough like him in college basketball

wouldn't have waited as long as I did to see Highest 2 Lowest if I would have known it was basically a movie about LIU basketball

today, like every day, is a good day to remember everything Lake Superior has taken from us. the only language the Great Lakes understand is force.

RIP to the Eddie Fitz

Louisville can still win the ACC and make the playoff if Jeff Brohm has the courage to do the right thing (bench Miller Moss, not overturn the results of a free and fair election)

it's not as bad as west coast teams being in the Big Ten, but something about Colorado-WVU being a conference game offends me to my core

I'd kindly ask folks who say college basketball is boring or a bad product to turn on Alabama-St. John's

with college basketball back, I dedicated this week's newsletter to the 12 things I'm most excited about for the 2025-26 season

among them:

is the Big Ten's title drought about to end?

is the ACC on its way back?

the last ride for Cream Abdul-Jabbar

how badly will Doug Gottlieb suck?
The 12 things I’m most looking forward to during the 2025-26 college basketball season
After a long and painful wait, college basketball's back in our lives. What's going to define the upcoming 2025-26 season? Let's take a look

this has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts. have long enjoyed Joel, Tate and Van on their own and listening to them chop it up about college football this season has been a lot of fun
In this week's episode of Ringer Tailgate, we talk about why the SEC is the best conference at dickriding, why people need to learn to take Ls, and @billygil.bsky.social makes his first on-camera appearance. Check us out

salute to the alma mater for as funny of a two-game, season-opening stretch that I can ever remember in college basketball

why would anyone at Arkansas want Bobby Petrino as their full-time coach? his last stint as an FBS coach didn't end because of moral shortcomings. it's because he stunk! he never lost fewer than 4 games with the best player in Louisville history and then went 2-10 immediately after Lamar left

I like Zohran, but it's unsettling to think that the largest city in the country's gonna be led by an Arsenal supporter

was an absolute no-brainer for me when filling out my ballot. glad so many others in Colorado felt the same way

my hottest take from the 2025 college basketball coaching carousel was that Sean Miller was an uninspired hire who will be out of there within four years or so. no shame in losing to Duke, who's gonna be one of the best teams in the sport this season, but Texas is getting stomped

Wow it turns out the entire country is not permanently reactionary because Trump won an election by 1.5%
November 5, 2025 at 2:15 AM
tonight's as heartening as it is frustrating. we shouldn't have needed Trump to get into office to know he was gonna do all this reckless, unpopular shit. he talked about it all the time on the campaign trail!

the best sports studio crew this side of Inside the NBA is back. god bless you, college basketball

glad I ended up in sports journalism, but before I started writing a column for the school newspaper, I went into college wanting to be a political consultant. based on everything I now know, I don't think I would have loved that line of work. Election Day always makes me wonder, though

finished Nobody Wants This last night and it's clear that Justine Lupe was criminally underutilized on Succession. Willa was never gonna be a major character, but by the end of the show, she had a smaller role than the girl from Red Scare. insane

brother, you can't call someone a "sensation" if they singing at an off-brand wrasslin event in Central PA
November 4, 2025 at 4:55 PM
was gonna post before the season that Auburn's gonna be one of the most talented 10 seeds in college basketball history, but it turns out that might have been overselling them
