Day or night Paco knows how to relax

It was very Halloween of this spider to trigger our backyard camera like this tonight

We made some pretty decent blackberry mezcal margaritas with Oregon berries from the farmers market. Mezcal and blackberries go well together. The end of fruit season is going to be a bummer for our new fruit margarita hobby

Larry is big at 10 months old now but looks like he might still be growing into his giant paws

It's not a great picture of it, but today Paco saw his first hummingbird and it was pretty exciting

He's been keeping an eye on the feeder since it left. We get hummingbirds until about late August so he has plenty of time to left to enjoy

Larry puts up with a lot from his little brother Paco

Our vegan bakery did a 420 sale outside one of the pot shops today and I love how this cupcake looks. Our small town is just big enough to have nice things

We're feeling tired over here. Time to take a break from news this weekend, drink some wine, get some restaurant food, and recharge
April 4, 2025 at 2:32 AM
Still very happy with my decision
Currently ordering several bottles of good scotch online and justifying it as a brilliant move to beat the tariffs

So much fakey applause I feel like I'm watching an 80s TV show

We had our catio closed up after adopting paco and larry because it was getting cold when we got them and they both had bad cases of pneumonia

The door is back in place now for spring and they seem pretty excited about it. I'm surprised they are still small enough to fit through the door together

They say if you cut onions under water they won't make you cry but it seems like it would make your swimming pool dirty

So disappointing to think I see a possible musk ban coming and then find out I read it wrong
🚨🚨THIS IS A CRITICAL CALL. HOCHUL IS TRYING TO ENACT A MASK BAN IN NY 🚨🚨
It is critical that everyone calls New York Governor Kathy Hochul today and tell her that you oppose any mask ban in New York State: 518-474-8390

Paco is loving the TCM marathon of Barbara Stanwyck movies this month

My cats get really into mystery science theater

Paco is watching a Barbara Stanwyck movie. We like her a lot

Trying a rare Laphroaig 10 year bottling from 2016. It's 59.2% cask strength from virgin French oak

It tastes how I expect CS Laphroaig to taste. With the peat and smoke I notice strong oak flavor with vanilla with cream soda. Very tasty

It's hard to save this for awhile and not enjoy it too quick

Paco likes to drop in and chase my mouse pointer while I'm working. He's basically my boss

I'm not sure how I was supposed to get this one right

This month we'll see DOGE and the Republicans try to kill the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. CPB gets $535m annually from congress, much less than Elon's companies $6.3b

Many stations couldn't go on without CPB. Write to your representatives now. Donate to your local radio and TV stations.

Larry takes calming care brand probiotics. I didn't think it would work but it seems to be helping his anxiety quite a bit.

It stains his white chin fur brown though, and I can't find anything about that online but I know someone else whose cat has the same problem. Worth it, but darn.

I think he could have gotten out if he would have drove forward to the left, but it was nice of the cops to support the local towing business
March 1, 2025 at 11:50 PM
An update to this is that a tow truck has to be called to pull the cop out. He apparently stopped to assess the flooding that was coming over the road, but decided to drive through the small reservoir that was dug specifically for the purpose of holding overflow flood water
