America, whether it realizes it or not, has an enormous amount riding on the fight that WilmerHale and Perkins Coie now find themselves in. It’s often cliche to say “democracy hangs in the balance,” but here it really does.

None of this is normal.
Kseniia Petrova, a Russian scientist at Harvard Medical School, was detained at Logan Airport after returning from France and sent to an ICE detention in Louisiana, The Insider reports.

A big critic of Putin and the war in Ukraine, she may now be deported to Russia.

The cruelty bothers me. The nonsensical denials bother me. The moving of the goal posts about what constitutes acceptable behavior bothers me.

But the thing that scares me is the incompetence.

Why do news organizations keep misstating the effect of this executive order? The president does not regulate elections in this country.

Right now there are a lot of new eyes on Signal, and not all of them are familiar with secure messaging and its nuances. Which means there’s misinfo flying around that might drive people away from Signal and private communications. 1/

Jeffrey Goldberg thinking he was being pranked and then realizing he was actually just in the war plans group chat is such a good microcosm of how it feels to be alive right now, everything seems fake until you realize it’s actually real and incredibly stupid

Sometimes I go on the Fox News website to see how they’re reporting things. The whole Signal debacle means nothing to them, so it will mean nothing to a large swath of Americans. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Read. What the Venezuelans deported to El Salvador experienced.

"One young man sobbed when a guard pushed him to the floor. He said, 'I'm not a gang member. I'm gay. I'm a barber.'

"The man asked for his mother, then buried his face in his chained hands and cried as he was slapped again."
