Today is a national day of mourning. I was going to take time to walk and reflect. Instead I am wearing dumpster fire socks, sitting in the bathroom without power, and watching over my puking kid curled up in the tub.

The holidays were effectively completed. It is 2025. I almost made the entire trip without showing the exhaustion. But 8+ hours at the zoo and 5 passwords later the panini generation shows.

Spent the hours prepping for stop work orders, proceed notices, and double checked I had the Team’s contact information. I had so many better things I wanted to accomplish. This routine again.

This month has been so much holding of the breath. A re-org, a new boss, retirements coming, memories coming back from 2016, and pieces in motion that I don’t know where they will end up. So I’ll work on a quilt and buy Christmas ornaments.
