Met up with a quilty friend today and hunted out of print fabric instead of doom scrolling. Finding fun raccoons for a project.

Welp - quite the EOs. Sad I’m not online helping the team and glad I’m out of the fray due to medical leave.

Late night marketplace shopping for used kayaks while the temps are predicted in single digits this week. Diving into brand differences and prices.

Sitting in the kiddo room and they are sound asleep. Cat on my lap and I won’t move. Absorbing the cat energy.

Today is a national day of mourning. I was going to take time to walk and reflect. Instead I am wearing dumpster fire socks, sitting in the bathroom without power, and watching over my puking kid curled up in the tub.

“Everything is fine” my socks tell me. And it will be again soon.

Ah - so much chaos so early in the year. And let the start of summer camp fast fingers begin.

Took the child to a movie theater for the first time in her double digits life. I forgot what it was like to have that communal experience.

2025 - the year to pull back to the essential. Getting symphony tickets and ceramic classes for my art loving kiddo. Handling health challenges. Focusing on the people of the civil service. And all the quilting to feed my soul.

This month has been so much holding of the breath. A re-org, a new boss, retirements coming, memories coming back from 2016, and pieces in motion that I don’t know where they will end up. So I’ll work on a quilt and buy Christmas ornaments.
