i really hope Expedition 33’s success motivates more studios to take chances on juniors. one of the saddest aspects of the state of the industry at the moment is that opportunities for juniors have all but disappeared. that’s why mentorship and sponsorship matter now more than ever.
incredibly inspired by Expedition 33’s lead writer (Jennifer Svedberg-Yen) confirming that she had never published anything before writing the game; she’d just written for herself. i’m so happy that team let its juniors cook and trusted their instincts.

People keep missing this context but this is one of the Roblox dudes. His "modern world" is one that exploits the labor of kids for his own profit and moderates social surfaces that are accessible to users as young as 7 so poorly that the game is known for sexual abuse and right-wing recruitment.
