In 2008, a blogger named Curtis Yarvin called for a future president to kill foreign aid programs as part of a plan to replace democracy with dictatorship.

Now 600,000 people are dead—and 14 million will die by 2030, according to the Lancet. This is the running death toll of tech fascism.
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Every extra hour that ICE spends facing off with activists is an hour they can't spend kidnapping other people.

Every extra minute ICE has to spend contingency planning around activists and neighbors, every extra officer ICE has to put on a kidnap squad, is a drain on their efficiency.

The attack on AmeriCorps has grown exponentially in the past few days. $400M in grants were terminated. 32,000+ service members displaced. 1,000+ nonprofits impacted. And thousands more communities face the loss of critical services.

🧵continues below...
For 30+ years, @AmeriCorps has shown up when America needed it - changing lives & communities. Sadly, like too many critical services, it is facing devastating cuts. @AmeriCorpsNCCC teams are being demobilized. Federal staff are being placed on admin leave.
