After 3 packed days of research, workshops, and networking, #COMPTEXT2025 has officially wrapped up! In 48+ panels, 220+ presentations, and a full day of tutorials we received a great review of the state-of-the-art in our field. Thanks everyone and see you next year!
Even though COMPTEXT2025 closed last weekend, its spirit will live on in the splendid photography of our dedicated group of colleagues from the University of Vienna: @jamoeberl.bsky.social, @amplanitzer.bsky.social, @apeksha.bsky.social! We thank and appreciate their work!

Thanks @comptext.bsky.social for a great conference in #Vienna! I presented (1) a new method -- "MQ-Class" -- for LLM-classifying the full spectrum of media ideology and (2) my project mapping the 2D structure of global media ideology. Great people, panels, and most importantly food!

The validation panels were epspecially popular at #COMPTEXT2025 To continue the discussion in June:👇
I would be happy to see many from #COMPTEXT at our workshop VaLiSTAD in Copenhagen @ ICWSM in June to discuss the validation of social science TADA/ML methods (🔜 abstract deadline May 5). Please feel free to say hi and ask me or @indiiigo.bsky.social about this new workshop format ⬇️
🕵️‍♀️ Join us for the first "Validating Social Text-as-Data Method" workshop (June 23, 2025, Copenhagen) at ICWSM sites.google.com/view/valista...

Absolutely excited to have @ahrabhikat.bsky.social in Vienna - for COMPTEXT2025 and also for coffee ☕💚
Absolutely excited to host a roundtable on "Marginalised Voices and Perspectives in Computational Text Analysis" featuring @krangelie.bsky.social and @indiiigo.bsky.social at #COMPTEXT2025 🙌

We'll explore how bias and marginalisation shape methods and models - and thus scientific quality!
#COMPTEXT2025 is just 2 days away, and we cannot be more excited to meet all participants at the University of Vienna. Please find the updated and final program here: bit.ly/42WZKZa. Please find the city guide for your time in Vienna here: bit.ly/3RsZY3R See you later this week!

I absolutely loved @holnburger.bsky.social‘s presentation of his tool crowdbucket.io!

What a well-designed service to have LLM topic modeling results validated by humans in a convenient and fun way…like swiping on Tinder.

Will definitely use it for my historical gossip!

My personal highlight of #COMPTEXT2025 😊
This was a blast! Really enjoyed discussing bias in knowledge production, LLMs and CSS in general with
@krangelie.bsky.social and @indiiigo.bsky.social!

Thank you @comptext.bsky.social and @compcommlab.bsky.social for providing space for these important topics! 🙌
How can we better capture marginalised voices through computational text analysis? An inspiring roundtable at #COMPTEXT2025 sparked important reflections. Huge thanks to @ahrabhikat.bsky.social, @krangelie.bsky.social, @indiiigo.bsky.social for guiding this vital conversation!

Forgot to mention: there are now also other #rstats packages that connect to Ollama like ellmar, tidyllm, ollamar. I still think ours works best for annotation and other tasks, but you might like the syntax or approach of something else more...
@jbgruber.bsky.social presenting rollama, an R package that brings gLLMs to your local R setup. Exciting possibilities for reproducible computational text analysis! #comptext
