I think there's a lot of takes running around right now that are profoundly silly in the face of what just happened on Tuesday and the people who are doing them are also the people who were smugly proclaiming that dems were doomed because they weren't following their strategy for electoral dominance

Masked bees (Hymenoptera: Colletidae: Hylaeus spp.) spend a lot of time collecting pollen for their young, like this one on a sulphur cinquefoil (Rosaceae: Potentilla recta). They lack the transport hairs most bees have and carry it in a secondary "honey stomach." Clayton Michigan, 27 Jun 2014.

Yes! I've been hoping to see Golden-crowned Kinglets in Central Park, and today I got my wish! I really enjoy these tiny, plump, energetic birds. BTW, they're hardier than they look and can survive -40° temperatures! 🥶🥶🥶 #Kinglets #CentralPark #birding

If white people can’t make good street food maybe they should be replaced. When something is broken you replace it.

Usually, I just look for birds, but sometimes settings are so beautiful that I wait near them, hoping a bird appears. That's exactly what happened when this Ruby-throated Hummingbird came to feed on Cardinal flowers in Central Park! ❤️❤️❤️ #Hummingbird #CentralPark #birding

Eight-spotted forester moths (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae: Alypia octomaculata) inhabit much of eastern North America. They're usually found near host plants for their larvae like wild grape and Virginia creeper. Unlike most moths, adults are diurnal. Side Cut Metropark near Maumee Ohio, 08 Jul 2012.

It’s the only member of Paeoniaceae in my area, so the first time I saw one, the weird morphology really threw me for a loop! According to this paper, it’s primarily pollinated by wasps, Syrphid flies, and sweat bees, although I did see a fat bumblebee rather awkwardly clinging upsidedown to one.
