#BirdOfTheDay theme is #FeedingTime. This is from last Spring - a White-throated Dipper (Cinclus cinclus) feeding a juvenile.

The White-throated Dipper is the national bird of Norway, although this one was in the UK.

Yesterday, Danish troops, who stood shoulder to shoulder with U.S. troops in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2021, arrived in Greenland to defend the island from the United States of America. Think about that. The world is in a mess so great it's hard to comprehend.

Blue-footed Booby (Sula nebouxii): 90cm (35in). This Pacific seabird is easily identifiable by its bright blue webbed feet, which they use to keep their eggs warm. Their streamlined bodies make them excellent divers, & they can plummet from heights as high as 80 feet! #booby #bird #nature #wildlife

Spurge Laurel, Daphne laureola, at Hutchinson's Bank in Croydon. For me this is one of the heralds of a new year of botanising, bringing with it the anticipation of seeking out new (to me) species, and the revisiting of familiar ones. Always something new to learn! #WildflowerHour

For well over a decade, Nigel Farage criticised Davos and just two years ago criticised Starmer for going and calling him a

"full-on globalist, hanging out with his mates at the World Economic Forum."

Did anyone else note that Starmer says he spoke to Trump yesterday and said he welcomed the role he is playing in Gaza?

Pardon? What? He welcomes the post genocidal rebuidling of Gaza as a playground for the rich? Either Starmer is a fool, or he is very dangerous. He might, of course, be both.
