And its finally out! Check out my recent article investigating the role of BRD4 in inflammation. But what excites me the most: we explore the safety side of things, and reduce the risk of BET side effects by >50 fold through more selective molecules.

Efficacy and Toxicity Analysis of Selective BET Bromodomain Inhibitors in Models of Inflammatory Liver Disease

Share with US students who had their offers of admission withdrawn for PhD programs:

Apply to Canada. Check out Canadian professors, and contact us. Our system works differently here, and we are all still, technically, able to accept students for Fall 2025.

I know some of my relatives think this shit. Fortunately they’ve been at it for years and I already blocked them on everything blockable.

Graduate programs ceasing admissions in the US due to funding being cut off is going to cause a really interesting predicament for private industry when companies want to hire trained researchers in 4-5 years.

Next year, the EU will require cars to have buttons & dials -- not just touchscreens -- to get a top safety rating.

This is a great move. Drivers can fiddle with knobs & buttons without taking their eyes off the road, but they can't do that with touchscreens.

(Even better: Tesla will hate this)
Cars will need fewer screens and more buttons to earn five-star safety rating in Europe
Euro NCAP will release new testing guidelines in 2026.

Every scientist, long before they were a scientist, was a little kid who stood in front of a fish tank or stared up at the stars or turned over a rock to look at the bugs underneath and said “wow”. On the best days, working in science still feels like that.

I’m Canadian so I respect that I’m steps removed from all this, but if you’re a US elected official, coming on here to post, “AND he’s also done THIS horrible thing!”

…if your post does not then CONTINUE with, “and I’m doing THIS about it,” then just fuck off.

Can we talk people out of donating to Salvation Army entirely, please!

They force their charity recipients to attend religious conversion sessions as part of receiving assistance.

AND they're wildly transphobic and homophobic!

Fund better charities!

Officially made the migration, so I’d thought I’d start off with some shameless self promotion. Wanted to share the preprint of a great collab with the Mayo Clinic, where we examine the role of BET selectivity in inflammation.
