This is maybe a controversial take, but I don't enjoy Lego kits. Coming up with your own designs using Lego bricks is fun, and I get that for some people it can be relaxing, but to me following a kit to the letter just feels like busy work.

Why did GoFundMe take down the one for Luigi but the one for the ICE agent who killed Rene Good is allowed to stay up?

Fascism is here.

Whether or not we stand up to and eradicate it is the only question left.

NO ONE is coming to save us...not Congress, not the courts, not law enforcement, not the military.

IF, and it's a substantial IF, we get out of this, it will be because of us.

The "You have to obey the government otherwise they are allowed to shoot you on sight" people are the same people who acted like they were being marched into internment camps when the CDC said "Please wear a mask while in public" during the pandemic.

People will say "What are the Democrats supposed to do? They're not in power!" And it's not about what they can do now, it's about what they should have done when they did have power.
Many scholars of authoritarianism saw ICE & CBP as a likely source of secret police if Trump returned to power.

Biden responded by increasing their funding and ranks.

Pro tip for ruling parties facing authoritarian opposition: don’t fund your opponent’s secret police while they’re out of power.

"Democrats are demonizing ICE!"

Makes sense, those are demons.

The Indie Game Awards revoked the GOTY award after learning some genAI assets were used by the winner. Meanwhile, the Nobel Peace Prize winner supports the bombings that just occurred. The Indie Game Awards have higher standards of integrity than the Nobel Prize.

All AI looks bad, but AI generated cat videos are especially repulsive to me. There are so many real cat pics/vids available that are way better and enough that you'll never run out. I'm sorry but a picture of a real cat snoozing is infinitely cuter than an AI cat doing a dance or some dumb bullshit

Jamiroquai foretold that the future was made of virtual insanity and indeed now everyone has been driven mad by AI. Fools that we are, we did not heed his prophecy.

Originally I had Liz Cheney in mind but now it's Marjorie Taylor Greene.
It's crazy how easy it is for fascists to convince liberals they're not fascists just because they're opposing a different fascist.

Dracula is killed with a stake to the heart, Wolfman is killed by a silver bullet, Frankenstein is afraid of fire. My guy, all of those things will kill literally anybody, did you even try anything else?

The thing is, regardless of all the obvious negative consequences, I'd probably at least understand where AI enthusiasts were coming from if it was actually producing quality output. But these guys are all obsessing over the most bland, tedious shit I've ever seen. I don't get what they see in it.

The way to restart the idea machine is to start giving the people with ideas money, even if you might not get a return on it.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

i believe the problem with most tech is capitalism and not the underlying tech. things can be fixed, improved, iterated upon, but not when the only driving motivator is profit. if we designed things with regard to our fellow humans and our world first, it wouldn't be this way.

Remember when there used to be commercials for things other than gambling, car insurance, and prescription drugs? Like there used to be ads for things like breath mints and cereal and peanut butter. Just like normal shit you can buy.

Wild how people can just start another business after a previous one fails. There's no way for anyone to step in and say, "sorry you have to go get a job like everyone else"? Can you really just decide "actually, I'm the boss forever" despite a proven inability to succeed? Who keeps funding them?

"We're only using AI to generate placeholders." If it seems odd why AI would be used for this, given that it can be quickly done with basic tools, it's because the goal is to find something, anything, critics deem acceptable, so as to gain a foothold to use to get to the next step. Concede nothing.

If I was making an app, I would make a rule in the TOS that says you could be preemptively banned for your behavior outside of the app. If I see someone smearing shit on the walls of other people's houses, it seems pretty reasonable to not let them in my house.

If we are taking ai media enthusiasts at face value, that they genuinely believe what they’re doing is revolutionary, visionary work, I think it needs to be considered a manifestation of AI psychosis, the same phenomenon where the obsequious bots convince someone they’ve invented new math

It feels like every single person who is in a decision making leadership position has become the "No, it's the children who are wrong" meme come to life.
The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out.

This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.

As is the case with all of Elon's fraudulent technology, those fake Tesla robots are just another capitalist ploy. In this case it's about offshoring service sector jobs that were previously unoffshorable.
