According to my parents, at least one of their Peugeots was a literal slow mover. Other misadventures with that car have led to them swearing off diesel, and a 30ish year break from European cars.
Early advertising for the U.S. Peugeot 604 in 1977. Despite tapping into the lucrative Mercedes diesel market with the car in 1981, it remained a slow-mover with the 505 consistently outselling it. It was ultimately withdrawn in 1984.

I do indeed have pinkeye. Eyedrops incoming. Apparently the cold from hell that’s going around can easily have more sinus issues than usual and come with pinkeye.
