TGA ANNOUNCEMENTS REACTIONS

Resident Evil Requiem is genuinely looking to be terrible and continue every single bad trend current RE has stumbled into.

Mega Man Revival that is Like Mega Man 2(TM) for the third time in a row

Gonna trash on a comment I saw under this post about “bringing fansubbers back and paying them”.
No. This is always an awful idea and fansubbing only ever worked as something where money exchanging hands is not a part of the goal.
The thing about CrunchyRoll’s enshittification is that normally I’m a big proponent of supporting official channels but if the money from subscriptions isn’t being used to pay talent and labour and the quality suffers as a result, then morally what’s the purpose of supporting those official means?

In Gundam fandom, there is a very odd fascination with what specifically Tomino Yoshiyuki would think of later works.
I love him and think he is a visionary, but people really lose something by constantly looking back to what he did and how he structured Gundam.

Who is still using SA?
Does Stack Overflow even still exist?
"Google, please summarize everything I hate about you, your priorities, and what you fuckers have done to our society in a single image."

On newer anime this season, it feels very generic to say this, but I think Sanda might be the standout.
I don’t like the idea of highlighting the polished Science Saru adaptation, but Itagaki’s very radical takes on youth development and sexual repression do feel fresh-

There’s a lot of talk about how DQV in SNES is ugly, but I found it infinitely more charming than the more detailed Chrono Trigger, DQ3 remake, and FF6 in its art style.
Really think it stands above the DS remake as well, which has a very garish clash of 3D and 2D assets imo.

It is interesting to see an actual indie movement towards the stylings of Silent Hill and proper Resident Evil.
I recall saying around the time of Shovel Knight that it’d probably never happen, but there’s a nice surprise to be had every now and then.

Lrt

The absolute worst thing in any modern anime discussion is someone coming in and going “Modern anime is worse than classic anime!” while having barely watched much of either.
Bonus points if they post a 90s show while saying “80s anime” or vice versa.

Don't complain about new anime being worse if you've only seen Evangelion & three Ghibli movies.

For this #DoctorWhoDay let me just use this pic again. My latest addition to the collection and I think it's the oldest one! Found it in an Antique Shope in Knaresborough while visiting last week. Happy Day to all who celebrate.

This is the true reality of OPM S3, this headline.
As always, nobody seeks out to make a bad product, but the conditions behind this IP, like Attack on Titan’s “Final Season” before it only create issues for these real human beings working on this project.
[Review] I feel so bad for the people who will forever have their names attached to what they know is a lackluster project, while being powerless to meaningfully address the issues at the core of this production.

Looking at my multiple shleves filled to the brim with several anime and manga that were considered "never-evers" for licensing 20-30 years ago and going "Yeah, I guess it isn't"
Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini says anime is 'no longer niche' 💥

"It’s mainstream and gigantic ... It’s now undeniable how big anime has become"

I thought people were calling that new Gege manga “JJK2” as a joke or something, but Viz sent me an email that straight up called it “Jujutsu Kaisen”.

Using Rance as the new Boku no Pico every time game discussion veers towards “Are games art” or “Games with good writing” or “What’s a good game I should play right now”

I’ve never even played Rance

I looked at the latest wave of anime Gatekeeping discourse and it’s funny how, without fail, the wannabe gatekeepers are all guys who showed up with SAO and Attack on Titan at the oldest
You’re the invaders bro!! You’re the normies!!!!

Was writing my fanfic EPIC and decided to arbitrarily insert a completely unrelated complete short story as the newest chapter just to keep my small reader base on their toes
(None of them liked it and wanted the real update)

I don’t get many new reviews on my old fanfics, but the few I do get are always short essays about how amazing it is and how it changed their perceptions of whole fanfic genres.

Thankfully none of them are asking about when I’ll finish a spin off I wrote two chapters of then dropped for no reason
