It's not just about mouthing the words affordability. We need:

- billionaire taxes
- $10/day childcare
- Medicare for All
- a living wage
- stop Wall Street from buying homes
- free public college and trade schools

LANKFORD: In 2010, before Obamacare kicked in, the normal healthcare premium was $215.

HUNT: Right. But insurance companies could refuse to cover you for a preexisting condition

LANKFORD: That's true.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

The thing about measles is that it’s the only known virus that triggers immune amnesia - it causes your immune system to forget everything it has previously learned. Meaning you essentially reset to zero and are now at risk of basically everything.

It can take 2-3 years to get immunities back.

Ableism makes you think you will be the exception.

Disability won’t happen to you.

You’re “better than that”.

You’re “stronger”.

You will succeed where the rest of us failed.

It’s not true. Disability can & does happen to almost everyone.

It’s not a moral failing.

Choosing between insurance for his son (NICU baby) and the rest of his family. 💔
Talking with New Jerseyans like Timothy has made clear just how high of cost people will pay if Senate Republicans don’t vote to extend health care subsidies.

The GOP health care plan has been the same for 15 years.

Repeal the ACA and return to when millions were denied coverage for pre-existing conditions.

You deserve better.

🚨 NEW: A majority of Americans now support Medicare for All even if it ends private insurance and raises taxes. The tipping point is here because the ACA is failing to keep health care affordable. New polling shows a 50-point shift in just six years.

You can’t tell if someone is disabled just by looking at them.

There’s no such thing as the “genuinely disabled”.

You are not entitled to a person’s entire medical history just so you can decide whether to believe them or not.

People are not faking disability, most are trying to fake being well.

We must stop tinkering around the edges of a broken healthcare system.

Yes, let's extend the ACA tax credits to prevent a huge spike in healthcare costs for millions. Then, let's finally create a system that puts your health over corporate profits.

We need Medicare for All.

The Trump/GOP math doesn’t math! Trump/GOP pay for their $ handouts to billionaires by making everything unaffordable for Americans! 22 million Americans will have their health care premium costs skyrocket through the roof as of January 1st due to Trump/Republicans refuse to extend ACA tax credits!

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

Basically, make a point of trying to help other people. It's good for you. Also, universal basic income will mean more people being free to volunteer and afford to.
A study found that volunteering slows down aging in retirees: the DNA of people who volunteered the equivalent of one to four hours a week showed distinctive biomarkers associated with decelerated epigenetic aging, with the most pronounced effects among retired people.

People need to understand how deeply eugenicist this is.

They’re insinuating that if you “take care of yourself” you will be healthy and should get affordable healthcare.

Disabled people can’t “healthy living” their way out of being disabled.

It’s not a moral failing.

We need healthcare too
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

Absolutely cannot wait to bust down the doors for a drink made by a company whose unionized workers are on strike in a store that doesn’t want to hire minorities anymore.
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.
