Spain’s marine protected areas (MPAs) are still being decimated by bottom trawling.

We took legal action last year but Spain has issued more fishing licenses for bottom trawling inside these MPAs since then.

So we’re going back to court with @oceanaeurope.bsky.social to protect these zones.

It's obviously a bad thing if any prisoner is released by mistake, but why is it worse if it's an asylum-seeker?

It seems just to be taken for granted now that someone is more dangerous because they're an asylum-seeker than because they're a criminal.

Something very dangerous is building here.
Well, that was a very weird deputy PMQs. James Cartlidge asking the same question five times – could David Lammy guarantee no other jailed asylum seekers have been accidentally released rather than deported – and Lammy each time instead condemning the Tories' record on prisons and justice.

"We can’t say it strongly enough: for planning reform to succeed for both people and nature, this newt-bashing, snail-baiting, spider-hating scapegoating must stop."

@richardbenwell.bsky.social, chief exec @wclnews.bsky.social, outlines what's needed to create balance between nature and planning:
Cross-government planning proposals threaten nature and must be fixed

We are being sold a false story that nature is the enemy. That newts, bats, snails and spiders are somehow responsible for the so-called housing crisis and a blocker to economic growth. This is a deliberate lie - using a cynically chosen group of species that could be found in a witches cauldron.

Equinor has resubmitted its #Rosebank application, meaning the government will soon decide the oil field's fate.

As @carolinelucas.bsky.social outlined: "the case against Rosebank is overwhelming".

From breaching climate limits to offshoring any benefits, read why approval would be a grave error 👇
The evidence is clear, the Rosebank oilfield would do nothing for the UK

It is embarassing not to see the BBC pulling up Reform leaders claiming that Nathan Gill was just some fan who got photos taken with Farage - he was an MEP for them & their leader in Wales while taking cash from Russia to act against the UK! Literally the very basics of your job to point this out

On #BBCQT - Fiona Bruce said that the audience and public didn't want to press Reform UK on their dodgy links to Russia.

I disagree.

RT if you agree it's in the public interest for Reform to explain about their links to Russian money and bribery!

Keir Starmer's aides are reportedly telling him not to go to the COP30 climate conference, because Reform would attack him for it.
Yes, they might.
And he should wear it as a badge of honour.

A suggestion for UK Parliament. Before passing any new law, consider plausible worst case scenario for how a future Reform government would use it. Then start to review existing laws. And if you don’t, don’t complain when it all goes wrong (assuming that government hasn’t locked you all up)
