In fact, it is offensively ridiculous to think that any but a handful of people disappeared by ICE will be able to file habeas corpus, because it relies on them having informed families with connections to available knowledgeable lawyers with time and resources to act instantly.

It’s time for Congress to reign in the Mad King. These tariffs haven’t even hit for real and the world is off the rails.

We don’t have to - and must not - place scholarly writing and popular writing in opposition. Doing so is a losing move. Writing exists in many overlapping genres and we get to work in and out of the ones that fit.

One thing I'm trying to get more understanding of is the people who were fired who review drug applications. Those people are funded with fees. So there's literally no cost to taxpayers. So the rationale for axing them speaks for itself. But are/will there be enough people to review new drugs?
