Another ride down!

I use @gozwift.bsky.social to help keep myself accountable when it comes to my cardio. While I'm a coach myself and have a degree in exercise science this is an easy way to get/stay in shape without diving into the weeds of training and outcomes!

5 weeks of consistent riding on @gozwift.bsky.social . I've been taking advantage of some of their programs and it's been making a huge difference in my fitness levels. I'm super excited to see where I'll be by the end of the program!

Why is it important to stay consistent? Because, that's how you get bigger, faster, and stronger. Today I set 3 personal records from when I first started training on zwift. My largest PR of the day was shaving an entire minute off of a hill climb and several seconds off of my others!

Want to know why working in the fitness industry is so hard? Because morons are allowed to flourish here. It's not regulated. You can have a degree/s and a person with a weekend certification will be believed before you ever will. It's exhausting.

It's been 10 weeks on zwift! I'm getting better and better. I really like the standardized workouts because they fit well into my lifting schedule and goals. I've been focusing on power as of late and it's been worth it!

Marketing is extremely powerful and also extremely dumb.

Let me show you how a good coach is going to handle this.

Intake-> learn about your client goals, dreams, wants, needs, and barriers.

Create a plan-> make a plan that matches a client's needs.

Adjust -> every 4-8 weeks

Repeat.

The wellness industry justifiably gets a bad wrap. It dwarfs the pharmaceutical industry by multiple BILLIONS. The worst part is there's very very very little regulation to the industry as well. So it's a grifter paradise. Even legitimate people will promote their junk because it brings in $$$.

Should you prioritize strength training or cardio? Well it depends on your goals. But I generally try to start people with strength training and once they have a good foundation then we can introduce cardio!

Remember a healthy diet is balanced! Prioritize lean proteins and vegetables but it's okay to have unhealthy foods on occasion!

MSG is bad for you.

False most of the stigma about MSG is rooted in racism. Unless you are a rat that is exclusively being fed MSG you will not consume enough MSG to become harmful. Dosage makes the poison.

So feel free to use MSG to add flavor to your favorite dish!

High Fructose Corn Syrup and Honey are chemically identical.The difference is the ratio of glucose and fructose in each.
HFCS is about 45g:55f and Honey is closer to 50g:50f. Fun fact sucrose (table sugar) is about 50g:50f as well. The body treats all of these the same.

Fitness has a lot of moving parts to it which can make it really hard for people to understand and really easy for grifters and bad actors to establish themselves in the market. Unfortunately many times the grifters stand out more than qualified pros because qualified pros advice is usually boring
