I went to school with many Somali students in Minnesota in the 90s. They were a wonderful crew— kind, joyful, curious, hard working. I was always amazed at how quickly they assimilated while keeping their culture. My friends Ismail, Abdi, Buffalo and Boots are as American as I am and make us better.
