Idk i think a lot about how it’s almost exclusively women who ensure Moses initial survival, and that his story, and by extension the Torah itself, get told. and by only focusing on the men in the Torah we sometimes do Pharaoh’s work for him. 5/5

there’s also something to be said for Moses as a sort of One Man Mixed Multitude, constantly being rebirthed/adopted into various tribes and peoples, living all these various lifestyles among all these different tribes, that i find really compelling about this parsha.
And it’s ensured by his own daughter no less, who is quite literally bathing in an instrument of genocide when Moses—a living story of Hebrew desperation, floats in on her. When faced with the option to carry out her father’s orders by her own hand, she can’t do it! 4/5

one thing i really like about this week’s parsha is how it takes like half a dozen different women conspiring to ensure Moses survival, and the reason it works is because Pharaoh only sees men as a threat. (Scattered thoughts incoming. 1/5)
