"The people of Peterborough have lost their showground. The city has lost its Speedway team as they currently have nowhere to race. The area is surely suffering economically as no one now comes to the city to attend the events that were once held here." www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/people/...
Peterborough City Council urged to rethink decisions for 1,500 homes and leisure development of Showground
A new bid is being made to get Peterborough City Council to review its decisions to approve a 1,500 homes and leisure village development on the East of England Showground.

Much sadness. Tegwen Curl, the WPC who rescued my husband David as an abandoned new-born baby, has passed away aged 91. Teg gave David his name. She was a lovely women and a friend to many, but like another mother to David. Thank you, Tegwen. xxx

Peterborough history fans. I knew that around 1913 there was a shop on Broad Bridge St (A.T. Cullum) that sold souvenirs. But what I didn't know until today is that at around 1905 there was one on Narrow Bridge Street (E.A. Hooke).

You may have seen some distressing posts on Facebook yesterday regarding a robbery by the BMX track. Please be assured that arrests have been made. www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/crime/t...

Pleased to have a letter on page 7 of @wdytyamagazine this month. Another coming together of my various passions.

He's at it again. He clearly has a thing for jute. They should make cat carriers from the stuff. Trips to the vet would be a lot less dramatic. He's snoring in there. 😻

This morning I am captivated by this Sitzendorf porcelain miniature model of a blue tit. Made in Germany in around 1898 and temporarily in my possession. Only 6cms high. I wonder where it's been and what it has seen.

The council is proposing a new traffic regulation at the Northgate end of Dunblane Drive in Orton Southgate that will prohibit waiting at any time to ensure emergency vehicles are always able to get through. Please email any views to trafficregulation@peterborough.gov.uk.

Just had a conversation with an older lady who was so relieved that I will help her with a fly-tipping problem in her street she began to cry. I don't think people realise the impact fly-tipping can have. It can cause great distress & make people feel not safe in their own home.

If you experience anxiety around public speaking or speaking to the media, one of the videos I created when I was a public speaking coach has had a crazy number of views. Some of what's in it may help with anxiety generally. youtu.be/4V6ck1bjE-0

This is important. With 100s of new homes to be built next to the A1 in Peterborough, what will be the impact on people's health and wellbeing? We're replacing the windows on our '07 home as they provide so little soundproofing from general street noise. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Documentary on Apple TV: '1971: The year that music changed everything'. Who should be in the crowd on the Oz protest march but my dear friend Bernie, aged 16! He has inspired so much that I have done in my life. Incredible to see this 54 years later. John Lennon was there too.

In these hard times it's good to find things that offer hope. If you're anywhere near London's Euston Road do call in to the Zines Forever! DIY Publications and Disability Justice exhibition at the Wellcome Library. Inspired by Dr Lea Cooper's PhD.

Just did my bowel cancer screening test. It was quick and easy. If offered screening, I highly recommend it. You'll be sent a kit at home and it's all very simple. 💩
