Much sadness. Tegwen Curl, the WPC who rescued my husband David as an abandoned new-born baby, has passed away aged 91. Teg gave David his name. She was a lovely women and a friend to many, but like another mother to David. Thank you, Tegwen. xxx

This small object (3.5cms high) is a miniature model of 2-handled drinking vessel. It was made by Shelley China (then Wileman) c.1905. Turn it over and you'll see it was made for EA Hooke, Narrow Bridge Street, Peterborough, as a souvenir to be bought by visitors to the city.

Peterborough history fans. I knew that around 1913 there was a shop on Broad Bridge St (A.T. Cullum) that sold souvenirs. But what I didn't know until today is that at around 1905 there was one on Narrow Bridge Street (E.A. Hooke).

Pleased to have a letter on page 7 of @wdytyamagazine this month. Another coming together of my various passions.

He's at it again. He clearly has a thing for jute. They should make cat carriers from the stuff. Trips to the vet would be a lot less dramatic. He's snoring in there. 😻

This morning I am captivated by this Sitzendorf porcelain miniature model of a blue tit. Made in Germany in around 1898 and temporarily in my possession. Only 6cms high. I wonder where it's been and what it has seen.

A 100-year-old souvenir of Peterborough (by Shelley china).

The council is proposing a new traffic regulation at the Northgate end of Dunblane Drive in Orton Southgate that will prohibit waiting at any time to ensure emergency vehicles are always able to get through. Please email any views to trafficregulation@peterborough.gov.uk.

Just had a conversation with an older lady who was so relieved that I will help her with a fly-tipping problem in her street she began to cry. I don't think people realise the impact fly-tipping can have. It can cause great distress & make people feel not safe in their own home.

Tonight I've been at the inaugural meeting of the council's Fly-tipping and Waste Policy Task & Finish Group on which I represent you.

Documentary on Apple TV: '1971: The year that music changed everything'. Who should be in the crowd on the Oz protest march but my dear friend Bernie, aged 16! He has inspired so much that I have done in my life. Incredible to see this 54 years later. John Lennon was there too.

I enjoyed spending time today with Cllr Day and Parish Cllr Farnham. Between us, we have represented Orton Waterville for over 40 years!

Both of my parents are in this wonderful photo from 1952. My dad is 10, my mum is 8.

Just did my bowel cancer screening test. It was quick and easy. If offered screening, I highly recommend it. You'll be sent a kit at home and it's all very simple. 💩

On BBC Look East this evening talking about an incident of flytipping in our local cemetery.

I was pleased to chat to Emma Baugh of BBC Look East this afternoon. To find out why, please watch this evening's bulletin.

1982 school trip to Devon vibes. Getting a wee cuddle from Tina, who would be my bridesmaid 40 years later. ❤️

On the day Peterborough is declared the WORST place for fly-tipping in the Eastern region, someone has dumped rubbish in our cemetery. I'm grateful to the parish council team for clearing it out of sight shortly before a burial was due to take place. 1/2

I'm taking a short break. Will be back with you soon. In the meantime, you can report things to the council at www.fixmystreet.com

Very sad to hear that my first boss at RNIB, Chris Yates, has passed away. He gave 23-year-old me the chance that changed my life. A proper 'old school' librarian, who was willing to embrace new technologies and let me try doing things differently. Forever grateful.

Today, it's 15 years since my dad died, 50 days after being diagnosed with cancer. He got a lot of wear out of that jumper. ❤️

This is where our worlds collide! I'm a Shelley (china) collector. Some of AJ Macgregor's (Ladybird illustrator & author) illustrations appear on Shelley china. I don't have any pieces in my collection (yet!) but would love to. youtu.be/K1vh4WEDw7w?...

Amazing to me how we four are still best friends. Marriages, kids, divorces, bereavements, the works. They were my bridesmaids in 2022! This photo taken in 1982.
