US Drought Monitor 11-13-25

For the 50 states and Puerto Rico, the US Drought Monitor shows 37.24% in moderate drought or worse, compared to 36.64% last week.

By the end of August, Exceptional Drought (D4) contracted to two smaller areas over the southern South Central and the Big Bend regions, specifically Medina, Frio, and Brewster counties, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.

That was quite the disaster
September 4th, 2011:

The worst wildfire in Texas history began in Bastrop County as three small blazes combined, fueled by winds from Tropical Storm Lee. The fire burned 32,000+ acres, destroyed over 1600 homes, killed four people, and was not contained until October 10th.
