Despite the lack of a planet-warming El Niño event this year, 2025 has been the 2nd-warmest year on record for the year-to-date period, and is on track to end up as the 2nd- or 3rd-warmest year on record, behind only the El Niño-warmed years of 2024 and 2023:

Here's a look at the extent of the "warmth" across the #Arctic in October. This map uses my normal anomaly scaling for each month, but it clearly doesn't work for something this extreme.

Typhoon FUNG-WONG is heading to the Philippines as the equivalent of a major Atlantic hurricane.
What’s really stands out is its immense eye. At one point today its eye spanned ~70 miles - about the distance from Tampa to Orlando. Picture an eye like that spanning the state!… 1/

October 2025 Globally,according to Copernicus,
had an average temperature of 15.14C which is +0.70C above the 1991/2020 normal and was the 3rd warmest on record behind 2023 and 2024.

The most above average country was Canada,the most below
was Albania.
