Very good and simple explainer.

As we must quickly transition away from fossil fuels, emissions reductions must also be aggressively attacked on multiple fronts.

Including fewer emissions from Ag, more storage on land
"Warming is going to exceed 1.5°C. We are heading into “overshoot” within the next few years. The world is going to become more turbulent and more dangerous. So, what comes after failure?" Some thoughts from Johan Rockstrom & me 10 years after Paris Agreement.

The world lost the climate gamble. Now it faces a dangerous new reality
The world bet on collective but voluntary action to keep global warming at a safe level.

That’s harsh. Until the developers of snicko and ball tracker release the data and results of their testing we have no idea as to their precision

Could that murmur on snicko have been air friction?

Resilience is a much over used word these days, when other meanings are intended.

But that really is resilience from Scotty

Can’t give that out. Not until the developers of Snicko provide the data for testing of its accuracy. How do we know it’s not air friction eg?

Same with ball tracker.

That’s just churlish from Stokes. He really wants to bowl first but knows Aus want to bat first so took that away from them.

📢Global Carbon Budget 2025📢

Fossil CO2 emissions continue to rise in 2025 while the terrestrial carbon sink recovers to pre-El Niño strength.

The key findings are covered in two reports this year:
* ESSDD (preprint): essd.copernicus.org/preprints/es...
* Nature: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Just saw a snippet on SBS News re the Sudanese war. We don’t hear or see nearly enough about it. Not just civilians directly killed but the unimaginable number who have died due to famine. Horrendous.

Increased adaptation will be needed no matter what. But Aus must also do it’s proportional share of mitigation despite what the Nats say.
Breaking: 'Found our voice': Nationals formally abandon net zero by 2050 climate promise
The Nationals have formally abandoned a commitment to reach net zero emissions by 2050, setting a challenge for Opposition leader Sussan Ley whether to follow or risk splitting the Coalition.
