Delamere Forest postcard, c1910
Sticking with an Autumnal feel, this wonderful #postcard by S. Hildesheimer & Co Ltd gives a view of Vale Royal, Delamere Forest. No artist name given, the original is likely an oil painting, still lovely.

Cat Bells is one of our most popular Fells, its name may derive from 'cat bields', shelter of the wildcat; sadly extinct in the region since the 16th century

Canal Boat Diaries, by Robbie Cumming
Lovely slow TV show while Robbie navigates the canals of the UK. He also writes and plays the gentle backing music. If you haven't seen it, it's a delight! BBC4 and I-Player, I think. 🎵🎶🎵

Isle of Man 🇮🇲 isn't part of Britain, it has its own parliament called 'Tynwald', the world’s oldest continuous legislature dating back over 1000 years.

Despite being situated between England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales it has its own language, flag, currency and distinct Norse-Celtic culture.
