Delamere Forest postcard, c1910
Sticking with an Autumnal feel, this wonderful #postcard by S. Hildesheimer & Co Ltd gives a view of Vale Royal, Delamere Forest. No artist name given, the original is likely an oil painting, still lovely.

Old Cheshire Fingerposts
We are fortunate to have many of these traditional black and white fingerposts still guiding the way around the county. These are all mid-Cheshire examples. They most likely date to the 1930s.

Scroll map, John Ogilvy, 1675.
The route is presented like an "imaginary" scroll to follow! When they were first published they were a great success! This is the Chester to Holyhead published in 1675.

Spring & Nature in Cheshire
Now meteorlogical Spring, I was reminded of A W Boyd's classic book about nature "A country Parish: #GreatBudworth", published in 1951. Following themes of natural history it is a snapshot of the environment here in Cheshire in the 1950s.
